Development of Kalyānamitta through Social Skills Training Process of Students in Dhammakāya Open University, California, Thailand Center (Educational Psychology and Guidance)

Abstract

 

The research’s title was the Development of Kalyānamitta through Social Training Process of Students in Dhammakāya Open University, California, Thailand Center. Its objectives were: 1) to study the level of Kalyānamitta of students before joining the process to train the social skills, 2) to study the level of kalyānamitta of students after joining the process to train the social skills, 3) to compare the level of kalyānamitta of students before and after joining to train the social skills and 4) to present the guidance of development of kalyānamitta by using the process to train the social skills to students. Its format was the quasi-experimental design by evaluating it before and after test. The sampling was the 38 students who applied to join the training of the social skills. The research’s tools were the questionnaires and statistics was used as the data analysis, mean, standard deviation and hypothesis, paired sample t-test and the content analysis.

The Results were found that:

 1) Before and after students joined the training process of social skills of students who have friendliness, its level was at the high in the overview.

2) After the social skills training process, the students had overall kalyānamitta level higher statistical significance at level 0.01. When considering each aspect, it was found that the students had higher kalyānamitta level in highest level specific in lovable and never exhorting groundlessly. Nevertheless, kalyānamitta level specific in respectable, adorable, being a counsellor, being a patient listener and able to deliver deep discourses or to treat profound subjects higher in the high level

3) Guidelines for the development of kalyānamitta through social skills training process that effected the development of kalyānamitta by overall higher statistical significance at the level of 0.05. The communication skills affected the development of kalyānamitta specific in never exhorting groundlessly and able to deliver deep discourses or to treat profound subjects. Make friends skills affected the development of kalyānamitta specific in lovable and adorable.
