Strategy in Development of the Public Mind of Youth with Moral Encouragement

Abstract

              The purposes of this research were to study the level of public mind behaviour of youth who participated the moral encouragement project, to develop public mind behaviour of youth using moral encouragement activities and to analyse the guideline and present the strategy in development of the public mind of youth. The research was mix method which included both quantitative and experimental research. The sample and experimental group were the youth who participated the moral encouragement project from the central and eastern region who used to get the royal shield award in national level from the competition of Soraphanya chanting in Matthayomsuksa level. The research instruments were questionnaire, evaluation form and the interview form.

The result found that

 

The overall level of public mind behavior of youth who participated moral encouragement activity was at high level (= 3.97) when considered in each aspect found that the highest level in public mind behavior of youth was the aspect of respecting of personal right and followed by the aspect of useful activities participation, willingness in social service activity, perception and the duties and right following, and the aspect of public area treatment respectively from high to low. After knowing the level of public mind behavior of youth, the researcher had experimented by choosing the youth from sample group to join the public mind development camp. There were 3 clusters of buddha teaching which are Sangahavatthus dhamma, Filial Piety dhamma and virtues of fair dhamma were applied into the activities that the researcher set up to develop the level of behavior and knowledge about public mind of youth to be higher. As a result of the 3 dhamma clusters and the activities that the researcher have set up were truly able to develop the youth’s public mind because in both before and after joining the camp the youth were provided to do the evaluation form of the knowledge about public mind and found that the level of knowledge about public mind after participating the activities (= 20.00) was higher than before joining it (= 17.00). According to the site visiting and teacher and parents interviewing showed that the youth were able to use this moral project to apply till it is truly employed the benefit toward society.
