The research entitled “The Management of Learning and Teaching Morality in Maetha District Lampang Province schools  with special reference to the Prathom 6 Students” consists of two objectives: 1) to study the state of learning and teaching Morality in Maetha District Lampang Province schools  with special reference to the Prathom 6 Students and 2) to study the problems and solutions in morality learning and teaching management in the schools. The research was conducted by using the questionnaire towards teachers, students and their guardians. The descriptive data were analyzed as percentage, mean and standard deviation through the problems and needs, and presented by using the descriptive analysis diagram. The results were as follows:

In the Management of morality learning and teaching: teachers lack teaching experiences in clear metaphors, question and answer ways, discussion in Buddhist perspectives, building good media materials, understanding measurement and evaluation and other technical  ways in line with Buddha-dhamma. It can be said that most of the teachers did not get training of the morality teaching course. The way-out of the learning and teaching development is that the morality teaching training should be conducted for all teachers in order to increase knowledge, experience, expertise and efficacy in the morality issues. It should also be mentioned that teachers face the problems of students lacking questioning skills and self-study skills. The teaching methods being always conducted are the student-center and the discussion way through the group process. Besides, students need teachers to do many kinds of activities supporting the teaching and to study tour at various places. Other interesting teaching methods are undoubtedly needed by students.

In the teaching media and equipments, teachers face the problems of media issues: inadequate media, no modern media, lacking multimedia slide and video. Most of media issues are pictures from books, magazines and newspapers. These are needed by students for their further study. Besides, the media training course should also be conducted for teachers for the best.

In the location and budget, it is a serious problem, that is, lacking rooms for the morality learning and teaching. Thai’s why these kinds of these rooms should be given particularly.

 

In the measure and evaluation, teachers lack understanding and skills in creating tools for teaching, especially for the measure and evaluation.  Measure and evaluation is generally used by only taking notice of students’ behaviors, but in the morality way it needs evaluation of their practice. 

 

In supporting activities, it is uncontroversial because the location is next to the temples and environmental benefit. Most of students’ guardians also are fundamentally good ethics. One more thing teachers and students need is that supporting finance should be added more and more for good.

In addition, the morality problems of students should be mentioned as unselfish, discipline, tolerance, frugality, being on time, diligence and harmony. The Dhamma training course for students could be conducted. The students have to attend various religious activities for cultivating their behaviors and values.  Last, student could integrate Buddha-dhamma into a good practice suitable for their ages and status.
