Abstract

ABSTRACT

This thesis aims to study on the Naga King in Urangkhathatnitan (Phrathatpanom Legend) The objectives of this research were : (1) to study the concept of the Naga King in the Theravada Buddhist Scriptures (2) to study the history of the Urangkhathatnitan (Phrathatpanom Legend) and the Naga King in the Urangkhathatnitan (Phrathatpanom Legend). (3) to study the influence of the Naga King in theUrangkhathatnitan (Phrathatpanom Legend).

The results found that the Naga King  in the Buddhist faith, has developed from the concept of the Naga King in  ancient India. Later, when Buddhism was born  they modified the Naga King  idea from the original concept originated naga believed to be caused by the power of God to create an action.
