Abstract

             The purposes of this thematic paper aimed at studying the concept of Ditthadhammikattha Samvatanika Dhamma in Theravada Buddhism and analytical study of the way of Ditthadhammikattha Samvatanika Dhamma for application of daily life and solution of the Thai social problems.

             The results of this study were found that Ditthadhammikattha Samvatanika Dhamma is the Dhamma to produce the present benefits in during the life-time. Those benefits are fortune, prestige, praise and happiness, that is, stable position, fame and wealth and praised by general people and happiness suitable for individuality and happiness for oneself. The Four Ditthadhammikattha Samvattanitak Dhamma consists of  (1) Utthãnasampadã to be endowed with energy and industry  to work, to make a living with diligence  and to be industry, not to be lazy (2) Ãrakkhasampada to be endowed with preservation of wealth which is taken with justice (3) Kalyãmittatã to be with good individual, not to be with bad individual, to live in any house or community, ones should maintain themselves by talking with individual in that house or community (4) Samajîvitã to live with sufficient economy, to know how to search for property and know the ruin of wealth and then to make living with appropriate livelihood.

              The way to apply Ditthadhammikattha samvattanika Dhamma for daily life and solution of Thai social problems is that in the aspect of individuality, it consists of the lack of diligence and the method to solve one’s problem, that is, to create one’s behavior to be diligent. To perform right and appropriate duties is to produce the benefits for oneself and public. In the association with a wicked person, the principle of Kalyamitta is brought for solution of problem to be associated with bad person. To associate with good friendship is to have advisors, consultants, friends and good environments. In the luxury of property, the principle of Samajîvitã is brought for solution of problem of life in the overconsumption of wealth that is, the economical necessity. In the aspect of family, it consists of self-practice, that is, self-control, the membership in family must practice in accordance with principle in administration of family. So the family will live with each other in peace, not to persecute each other. To exercise self-control should be compliance with the principle of morality in accordance with the principle of Six Directions and self-practice as a householder. The laypeople must learn the blessings for themselves and societies. In the aspect of practice and self-practice as job-holder, one who hopes to succeed in his work and progress in his life will take family, society and nation to succeed in burdens. In the economical aspect, it consists of sufficiency, running business with the sufficient principle, rationality, running business with wisdom, carefully thinking with appropriate data and reason, immunity, capability to avoid the risk, that is, not to create the cause that results in the risk in the administration and running business, knowledge, ability to anticipate, ability to investigate and evaluate the situation in carrying out the business, justice, that is, to run business with virtue and morality, not to persecute individual who concerns with ones’ own business and not to persecute the others’ business, honesty and responsible for society and public. In the social aspect, ones must know how to distribute and support each other, not to persecute the others not only the creatures but also the environments, to enhance people in society to have morality and virtue.
