Potentiality Development of Preceptors in Sangha Administration Region 15

Abstract

 The objectives of this research were : (1) to study the rules and methods of duty practices of Preceptors in Sangha Organization, Region 15, (2) to study the condition of problems and obstacles of Preceptors in Sangha Organization, Region 15, and (3) to propose the guidelines for potentiality development of Preceptors in Sangha Organization, Region 15.

The methodology was the qualitative research, collecting data from related texts and researches and 24 key informants by in-depth-interview and focus group discussion with 8 participants. Data were analyzed by the descriptive interpretation,
Findings of Research were as follows :
1. The rules and practical method of preceptors according to Buddha’s principle as Buddha Vinaya were the preceptors must consist of precepts , concentration , wisdom, cessation of suffering, cessation of suffering view as holy monk and could convince the new monks and the monks from other temples to have the morality. These preceptors must have the faith, shame , moral dread, will, mindfulness, precepts, good behavior, right view, scholar, helper the sick monks or helped the new monks to behave according to Buddhism or could help others and could train the new monks to have the disciplines like principle of good behavior and principle of education about principle to introduction to new monks, means the rules of monks and nuns in Buddhism and could explain about the Apidhamma or supreme Dhamma such as the principle of mind and matter, could introduce Apivinaya or supreme discipline in the principle of Vinaya Pitaka. The preceptors must know the faults or not faults, light faults or strong faults, to know the process of fault leaving, could remember two principles of monks’ rules such as rules of monks and rules of nuns including the preceptors must have ten years ordination or more.

2. The condition of problems and obstacle of Preceptors consist cd of the problems the structure of changed society and sons as Buddhist monks, the problem happened due to the wrong behavior from Dhamma Vinaya, problem from ignoring the duty of Preceptors, problem of law due to wrong attitude of Dhamma Vinaya, it is the important problem of Thai Sangha organization, must be solved correctly and hurry as possible. Because Preceptors and Sangha organization in all levels must have cooperated responsibility, if they are careless and ignore this problem and it happens always and continuously, it exactly impacts on Sangha organization region 15 and Buddhism institution.
3. The Potentiality Development of Preceptors in Sangha Organization, Region 15, has three aspects as follows : 1) Potentiality Development of Self Preceptors, such as potentiality development for qualification of Preceptors, potentiality development for ethics of Preceptors, potentiality development for leadership of Preceptors by potentiality development of Preceptors to have the qualification according to Dhamma Vinaya like precept, concentration, wisdom, survivors from suffering, attitude to survivors from suffering, faith, moral dread and moral shame, endeavor, mindfulness, good manners, have the right view, Preceptors have the ethics and good manners and have the faith of general Buddhists, have the hospitality, carefulness, behave according to Dhamma Vinaya and rules of Supreme Sangha Council strictly as the model of new monks or new comers, have the high leadership in Sangha administration.
2) Potentiality Development of preceptors in Sangha organization region 15 to new monks or new comers to behave well according to Dhamma Vinaya, to educate properly for creating the potentiality of new monks as the most value resource of Sangha including to have the welfare to new monks to have high standard of living for the monkhood, and to take care of good health and welfare of now monks properly and perfectly.
3) Potentiality Development in Buddhism propagation of Preceptors to new monks or new comers and Buddhists perfectly with Athisila (perfectly precept), Athisamathi (perfectly concentration), Athipanya (perfectly wisdom) to create the sons of villagers to be the Buddhist monks and create the Buddhist monks to be holy monks according to the principle of Buddhadhamma for the heir to keep Buddhism sustainably in the future.
