ABSTRACT

                        The objectives of this research were to to study the influen of  Bhuddhism on the faith and Bhuddha amuulet, to study the Buddha amulet in Thai society, and to study the analytical result of the faith and the way of practicing on Buddha amulet of Police men, Khonkaen Local Police station. This is a qualitative research by studying from the document including interviewing the target, analyzing with the descriptive method.

                        The results showed that the faith was the basic of ethics or the base of necessities on the way of Buddhist because of the person who had the faith to be the cause of making the good things easier, the faith had the duty to destroy the doubtfulness. The cause of happening the faith had many channels such as the figure, around sound, and the true friends. The characteristic of the faith one wanted to make a friend with the morality one, and wanted to listen to sermon that the result of faith made we met the good one and always realized to the morality.

                        Besides that,  the using of dharmic principle, the Buddhism’s propagation also had another things such as the sacred object, the Buddhism was a connective of the faith to believe in the dharmic principle but to use a  right trick for the respecters because of some Buddhist could not accessed the dharmic principle directly. The one way was the making of sacred object to wear especially the Buddha amulet that carry around any place comfortably. Nevertheless, the objectives of making the Buddha amulet were to appreciate the Threefold refuge of Buddhism for holding to be the souvenir and the supporter of mind.

                        Khonkaen Local Police had the faith to Buddha amulet as a reminder such as making the intelligence to recollect of making the good thing, having a shame of oneself, having the supporter of mind, having a meditation from requesting for the Dharma, controlling oneself for observing the precepts.

                        The Buddha amulets as a sacred object that effect to the stability of mind in working such as the safety of life, the popularity. The way to behave of the policeman in the profession of Buddha amulet such as the one who wear the Buddha amulet had the presence of mind, to make a merit, to donate the things of fellowman, to observe the five precepts followed the duty of a good Buddhist, to go to the temple for listening to sermon, to do the insight meditation, to use in daily life in doing the duty with the intelligence , to be cautious in analyzing of cause and effect with the intelligence in working of the officer, and getting the knowledge from the dharmic principle, the ritual both the Buddhism and Brahmanism including any doctrine.
