Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

                        This research is a quantitative one with  the  following  objectives, namely :-  to  study  the  Five   Precepts   observing   behaviors   by   the Buddhists   in   the  community  of   Wat  Nariratpradit  in  Bangkok,  to compare   the   information  perception  influencing  the  observation  of Five  Precepts  by the Buddhists in the Community of Wat  Nariratpradit in  Bangkok and  to  study  the  information  perception  influencing  the  observation  of  Five  Precepts  by  the  Buddhists  in  the community of  Wat  Nariratpradit  in  Bangkok. The  sampling   groups   used    in   this   research   are   the  150  Buddhists  dwelling  in  the  community of  Wat Nariratpradit,  Nongjok, District  Bangkok   as  the  sampling  groups for the study. The Statistics  used  for  the  data  analysis are  the percentage,  the mean the Standard Deviation,  the t-test. The One - Way Analysis of  Variance; The  F-test  and  the  Chi-square  test wherever   necessary  by using  the  ready-made statistics   analyzing  computer  programme. The  results of the study are as follows: 

    1.                The  result  of  the  data  analysis  of  the Five  Precepts observing behaviors by Buddhists in the community in Wat Nariratpradit in BangkokTo find out the average ( )  and  the Standard  Deviation  values is  high in general  and  while  considering each  item it is found that 4 items are highand 1 item is  moderate. The  item with the high  average value is the third,second  and  fifth  of  the Five  Precepts   respectively and the fourth one is moderate.

    2.                From  the  result  of  the  comparative  analysis of Basic information of person  who was  percept  information of the  Five Precepts observation by the Buddhists inthe community of  Wat Nariratpradit in  Bangkok.  Which  is based on sexto test  the value of t-test, it is found that in general it was not significantlydifferent at .05 level  which  was  not  related  to the given  hypothesis andwhile  considering  each item it was found that the observation of the thirditem  of  the  Precept  between male and female was significantly differentat .05 level.

The  result  of   the   comparative  analysis  of   the   information perception  influencing  the  Five Precepts observation by the Buddhists inthe community of Wat Nariratpradit in Bangkok based on age, occupation,qualification, income  and dwelling period through the One-Way Analysis of Variance: ANOVA  is  fount  that  the   educational   level  only  ,It was  be  influencing  the  Five Precepts observation. But age, profession, budget and timeline  of  local living not  associated  with the  Five Precepts observation,   or was not significantlydifferent at .05 level 

  The   result   of   the   analysis   of   the information  perception influencing   the  Five   Precepts  observation  by  the  Buddhists  in  the community   of   Wat   Nariratpradit  in  Bangkok  through  Chi - squaretest was as follows: \

        1) In the respect  of the individual perception, it was found thatit significantly had no any effects upon the Five Precepts observation bythe  Buddhists  in  the  community of  Wat Nariratpradit, Bangkok at .05 level

        2) In  the respect of  the perception from the community, it was found  that   it   significantly   had  an  effect  upon   the   Five   Precepts observation  by  the Buddhists  in  the  community of  Wat Nariratpradit, in Bangkok at .05 level

                        3) In   the   respect  of  the  perception from the mass  media, it was  found  that  it  significantly had  an  effect  upon  the  Five Precepts observation by the  Buddhists  in the community of Wat Nariratpradit in Bangkok at .05 level
