Abstract

Abstract

This thesis is of three objectives namely :-  1) To study the ethical principles in developing the Buddhist community  2) To study the ethical principles in developing the Muslim community  3) To comparatively study the usage of ethical principle in developing the community enterprise by the Buddhist and the Muslim Communites. The study was conducted with the documentary research and the In-depth Interviews.

From the study, it is found that the ethical principles of both Buddhism and Muslim are very similar to each other and are important about the matter of very good  and evil deeds. They can be applied to everyday life  and are working principles to develop the people to work better both for themselves and for the public. The details of the teachings are different.

The comparative study of the usage of the ethical principles in developing the community enterprise in Buddhism and Islamism in Huay Sai Royal Development Study Center includes : 1.The precepts and the provisions 2.The loyalty 3.The harmony 4.the self-reliance 5.The saving 6.The donation 7.The use of local resources and the valuable things. From studying, it is found that the community enterprises have been used in the development significantly to the development of the valuable chain. Conversely, if the community enterprise does not use the ethical

principle in developing, there will be more problems and the development will be difficult.

The outcome of the usage of ethical principles in developing the community enterprises concluded for the short period that the Buddhist community enterprises could gain self-reliance, unity, savings for revolving fund, valuable utilization of local resources as well as efficient and effective working implementation. Muslim Community Enterprises face management problem which leads to lack of working cooperation. This has caused insufficient efficiency and effectiveness. However, it is good result for the group and also an important factor to help support group development in an efficient way for some persons or some groups who have applied Islam ethical principles.

In the long run, the Buddhist community enterprises could achieve community security with regard to sustainable development by the group and by nature. This will make balance of people, society and nature in the community. As regards the Muslim Community Enterprises who have applied Islam ethical principles, it is a good outcome for the group and enterprises. This makes security to the community due to income earning of the members, either for themselves or for the family. For those who do not apply Islam ethical principles, there are conflict problems for group security, community and nature. Consequently, if there is a determined leader who pays more attention to members’ participation, good management, awareness on the valuable utilization of local resources and understanding on the environmental preservation, a sustainable development for the group and balance among people, society and nature in the community can be certainly achieved.

Since the operations of the community enterprises affect the society as a whole, either in the economic, society, culture and environment perspective,  the sustainable development of community enterprises depends on the balance of three components : people, society and nature. The sustainable development is consequently achieved.
