Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

                       

The research entitled, application of the Four Iddhipada for  learning  management  of grade 4 – 6 Students, Wannaratsuksa School, Muaeng district, Khon Kaen Province, had the following objectives: 1) to study the idea and concept of four Iddhipada in Theravada Buddhist literature, 2) to study the implement of Four Iddhipada in learning management, 3) to analyze the result of implementing the Four Iddhipada in learning  management  of grade 4 – 6 Students, Wannaratsuksa School, Muaeng district, Khon Kaen Province. This thesis was conducted based on qualitative research methodology, Field works approach, and content analysis.

The results of the study found that the concept of the Four Iddhipada have an element as follows Chanda means aspiration to in doing the wholesomeness (Kusala); Viriya was the effort; Citta means the thoughtfulness; Vimansa is the investigation. Venerable Phrapromkunapon (P.A.Payutto) presented his opinion regarding the Four Iddhipada that the Four Iddhipada were the principles that paved the path to success. While, Venerable Phramedhidhammopon (Prayun Dhammacitto) said that the Four Iddhipada not only stood as the principles leading to success, but it were also the principles that supported longevity.

For the principles of implementing the Four Iddhipada in learning management, the administrators and teachers should organize the learning processes including ethical training project and daily activities integrated with the Four Iddhipada. Showing the example of the successful people who accordingly followed the principles of Four Iddhipada was recommended here. This was to educate a student to understand the values and significance of the Four Iddhipada.   

Last but not  the least, the result of implementing the Four Iddhipada in learning management found that in the case of Chanda, a teacher should love  his or her profession of teaching; Viriya, be responsible in doing work and looking to create the best result of one’s profession; Citta, concentrating on one’s work with thoughtfulness; Vimansa, always investigate for the better development in order to obtain remarkable results. Moreover, this study found that the principles of the Four Iddhipada was very important principles in learning management of the administrator, teachers, and Grade 4 – 6 Students at Wannaratsuksa School, Muaeng district, Khon Kaen Province.
