Abstract |
ABSTRACT
This thesis is ofthree objectives namely:-(1)to study the mural painting appearing in
Uposatha of Wat Dusidaram. (2)to study the Buddha’s teachingsappearing in the mural paintings
in Uposatha ofwat Dusidaram., (3)to analyze the meaning of Dhamma in the mural paintingsin
Uposatha of Wat Dusidaram. The researcher has studied the Buddhist scriptures and stone
inscriptions in the walls of Uposatha along the line of the documents belonging to the
Archeological Division, the Fine Arts Department.
From the research, it can be seenthat in the Uposatha ofWat Dusidaram, there are the
beautiful mural paintings refluxing the Thai Arts and culture. There is also the story of these
mural paintings.The paintings were drawingin the first reign of Bangkok period. At the wall over
the doors and windows, there are groups of paintings Samudraghosha story withinthe frame of
guild lacquered wood.Some of them had faded away.On the story of the Buddha, they begin with
Santusita God as assumed due to the disappearance of the next painting.The 22

of Trai Bhumi statedPhra Malaya pleading the hell-beings. Thesepainting reflexesthe nature of
beings like the good and the bad action to be thought of and to do good.
A group of Dhamma classified from the paintings into ten is of namely:- two
Devathamma, Eight Mahakusala, ten Kulsala-kammapatha, seven Bojjhanga, ten
Akusalakammapatha, four Apayamukkha, ten Parami, ten Punnakiriyavathu, four Sangahavatthu
and four Garavasadhamma. The teachings are Goth meritous and demiritous; the first as
devadhamma and Gojjhanga etc. and second as apayamukha and akusalakammapatha. Thus the
wise should follow the merits. |
