The purposes of this research were; 1) to study the writing of articles on Buddhism in English of the 4th year students of Faculty of Humanities, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, 2) to experiment writing the articles on Buddhism in English of the 4th year students of Faculty of Humanities, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, and 3) to present the correct writing of the articles on Buddhism in English of the 4th year students of Faculty of Humanities, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. The target group was 50 4th year students who are taking writing the articles on Buddhism in English during the first semester of the academic year 2009 at Faculty of Humanities, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. The research instruments consisted of 10 working plans (one plan is two hours, total 20 hours). The ability before and after being taught through activities on the articles on Buddhism in English focused on writing the English essay. The data obtained were analyzed by mean ( ) and standard deviation (S.D.) with computer.
It was found that
1. Ability of the writing of articles about Buddhism in English was improved continuously.
2. For writing the English articles about Buddhism, most of the students could get better scores from taking objective tests with the post-test mean score of 17.37 which is higher than the pre-test mean score of 9.6 and it is significantly different at 0.01 level.
3. For the problem of correct methods of the 4th year students’ writing the articles on Buddhism in English, It was found that
1) Writing structure: a teacher paid close attention and instruction when they had problems.
2) Grammar structure: students can understand the difference between English and Thai (tones, consonants, vowels, words, phrases, sentences) and wrote the articles correctly.
3) English words: students can use Dhamma words in English appropriately for the articles tuaght.
4) Sentence structures: to propagate Dhamma in English: they can use Dhamma sentences which are easy to understand when communicate and direct according to purpose.
