Abstract
This research aims to develop and find the Effectiveness of Computer Assisted Translation Lesson from Pali to Thai Language for Students of the Scripture Division, Pali sentence level 1-2. The contents of the study cover three areas; 1) the fundamentals of translation from Pali to Thai. 2) The principles for such translation, and 3) the translation of special Articles.
Populations are the selected 42 sampling students from the Scripture Division, Pali sentence level 1-2 of the Nakhon Pathom Province, Pali Division Unit 2 at Wat Mahasawat Nakaputtaram Scripture School, Hom Kret district, Amphur Sam Pran, Nakhon Pathom province. Three samplings from these 42 are weak scorers (Score less than 2.0). Nine samplings are moderate scorers (grade 2.01 to 2.99), and those with good academic performance (scoring above 3.0) are 30.
The researcher used the “One Short Case Study” method for three times to measure the Effectiveness of this Computer Assisted Instruction Program and found out that the overall performance on the first time had the effectiveness of 83.00/ 88.00 percent, higher than the set-criteria of 80/80. The study also found out that these Sampling-students have more Interests in the Contents and Formats of this Translation Lesson. The second and third experiments on the samplings of 9 and 30 students found the overall performance effectiveness at 82.33/84.56 and 81.83/85.67 percent respectively which were also higher than the 80/80 set-criteria.
By taking the Result of the Third experiment into comparison with the T-dependent Distributions, the result found the Difference of During Learning and After Learning to a statistical Significant Factor of level .001 (t = 7.092, p <.001) which proved the “Reliability of 99 per cent” for this Computer Assisted Pali to Thai Translation Lesson. It also found an attitude to be at very high satifactory level ( x = 4.00, SD = 0.61) which meant that this Computer Assisted Learning Program which was developed by the Researcher could actually increase knowledge.
